Man falls asleep on road, causes accident in Humboldt County

Humboldt County, IA – A driver fell asleep on the road and caused an accident in Humboldt County early Friday Morning. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office reports that the accident occurred between 1:30 and 2 am on Friday when a red Chevy Trail Blazer driven b 43 year old Joshua Harter of LuVerne , was driving northbound in 2500 mile of Penn Ave. and said he fell asleep at the wheel. He entered the west ditch struck a utility pole near the fence line.

There were no injuries in the accident, but Harter will be cited for  failure to maintain control. The Chevy Trailblazer was totaled in the accident and there was $3,000 worth  of damage to the utility pole.
