Humboldt Girls Soccer blanks Webster City 2-0

Webster City, IA – The Humboldt Wildcats girls soccer team knocked off Webster City 2-0 to open the 2023 season.

The match was scoreless until 9:28 to go in the first half when Addie Thompson (Sr.) knocked a tip-in assisted by Lily Allison (So.) past goalkeeper Joleah Stuhr to give the Cats 1-0 lead. The second half would see the Cats strike again with Ava McIntire (Jr.) netting an unassisted goal to give Humboldt a 2-0 lead with 29:30 left in regulation. The Cats would hold on for their third consecutive shutout against Webster City dating back to the 2022 season.

The girls squad for Humboldt has their home opener tonight against Mason City at 5:oo p.m.
