Humboldt, IA – The Humboldt Community School District has seen many facilities undergoing construction. Superintendent Jim Murray gave an update on each of the facilities. Murray says work will be done on adding a fire lane to Taft Elementary along the new gym.
The district and the City of Humboldt has entered into a 28 E Agreement to allow the school to add a turnaround that will enable emergency vehicles the ability to turn around if they have to come to the school.
The new Athletic Training Facility at the High School is closer to completion this fall. Murray says he took the school board through a tour of the facility Monday night.
Murray says that an open house will occur in October. The Humboldt High School Front Office is also receiving a make over as the district looks to improve safety. Murray says that while under construction, alternative means for entering the school are available.
The updated office should be completed by late spring of 2024.
