The Humboldt-Dakota City Kiwanis Club will be hosting their Annual Spaghetti Supper with garlic bread, on December 4th, serving will be from 5-7pm at Zion Lutheran Church. Drive up ONLY. Please enter from the South and exit to the North in the West parking lot. Ticket prices are $12 and tickets may be purchased from any Kiwanis Member, Hair Studio 706, and Humboldt Engraving and Gifts The Biz. The Proceeds from this event will go to help families and children of the community. As always, we greatly appreciate YOUR SUPPORT.
Hometown Christmas is Dec. 8th and 9th in Pocahontas, IA. Retail specials from participating businesses, ISU’s Cy will be there on Friday afternoon to take pictures with shoppers, with a Light Parade to end the day at 7pm on Main Street, then on Sat. Retail Specials continue from 9-2pm , at Resurrection of Our Lord Church Hall at the Catholic Church will be Quilts and More Sale, with a visit from Santa from 10-noon, and a Christmas movie marathon at the Rialto (see flyer for movies).
Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church Winter Garage Sale, Saturday Dec. 9th from 8-12pm at 1212 Sumner Ave SW, Humboldt. There is something for everyone, it is priced right, and the proceeds go to benefit the youth program. Please come and support Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church youth program.
Santa and The Grinch are having a meet and greet on December 9th from 3-5pm at 308 Taft St N. in Humboldt. This is a fundraiser/donation drive for Moffitt Animal Shelter and Peace Creek Animal Sanctuary & Rescue so come bring your donations, take pictures, and have cookies & milk with Santa and the Grinch.
Enjoy a stroll through history this holiday season at the Museum! Learn how Mr. Grinch stole Christmas. From 1:00pm to 4:00pm, there will be fun kid’s activities as well as a showing of Dr. Seuss’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” in the Historic Hardy Church Basement at 2:00pm. Stay tuned for a special guest making his appearance from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. From 5:00pm to 8:00pm, visit the Millhouse and Historic Hardy Church decked out and lights with special guests Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus!

Free Public Showing of “Gridshock”, Thursday December 28th at 7pm in the High School Auditorium. The movie shows Sex Trafficking in Iowa and interviews with people who have been trafficked. Recommended for ages 14 and older unless accompanied by an parent.
