Karen Lawrence was born April 1, 1964 in High Point, North Carolina to Philip and Lynda (Byerly) Lawrence. She was raised and educated at High Point and graduated from High Point Central High School in 1982. On December 2, 1993, she gave birth to her daughter, Caitlyn. Karen remained in North Carolina until 2003, when she and Caitlyn moved to Gilmore City. In 2005 the family moved to Humboldt. Karen married John Pauls on July 19, 2009 in South Dakota. She worked at Pasquale’s and Crossroads, and she sold Scentsy Products until her retirement due to health concerns. She continued to reside in Humboldt until her passing.
Karen surrounded herself with people and things she enjoyed. She loved her family; John, Caitlyn, her step children and grandchildren, with whom she wished she could spend more time. Karen had favorite television programs she would “binge watch” on Netflix. Her favorites included “Criminal Minds” and “Law and Order SVU”. She spent happy times in the company of her conglomerate of cats. Karen was fascinated by wolves, and she pined for the beaches of her native North Carolina.
Those remaining to cherish her memory include her husband John Pauls of Humboldt, daughter Caitlyn Warren (Cody Gibson) of Boone; step children Tawny Pauls of Fort Dodge, Danielle Jacobson of Eagle Grove, and Dillon Pauls of Humboldt; step grandchildren Hayden and Liam; nephew A.J. (Candy) Lawrence of Thomasville, NC; great niece Madyson, and great nephews Hayden and Jacob.
