Humboldt, Iowa — After a couple of snafu’s regarding late registration deadlines with Parks and Rec programs offered, the Humboldt Park Board met and discussed what they could do differently.
Parks and Rec Director Chris Shaner was somewhat bewildered because he said “deadlines have always been [involved] with the sign-ups in Humboldt.
Parks Board member Ross Sleiter mentioned that perhaps things were a little bit more lenient in the past and with dwindling numbers we should be encouraging more to sign up rather than close children out.
City Administrator Travis Goedken explained that he advised Shaner to change some language that says if the parent were to turn the registration in by a certain date, their child would be guaranteed a spot in the league.
