Board of Supervisors to Discuss New Windtower Ordinance Today

Dakota City, Iowa — The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors will look to approve the first reading of a new ordinance regarding wind towers and wind energy in the county, at their meeting this morning.

The supervisors held three readings of their previous ordinance and gathered public input before making changes.

The issue has been urgent as many landowners have spoken up about their dismissal of the proposal or their favoritism of it.

This morning, the supervisors could, in theory, pass the first reading then waive the second and third readings of the ordinance if they see fit.

They’ll discuss the matter at about 10:00 a.m. this morning with a public input portion.
