Tree Branch Blamed for Livermore Daze Blackout

Livermore, Iowa — A blackout loss of power was reported during the Livermore Daze event, Saturday night, and Humboldt County law enforcement officials now know the culprit: a tree branch.

Power was cut from the city for about one and a half hours, taking the Vic Ferrari Band off the stage for quite some time.

Admission was free during the blackout, as people did not think that the problem would be resolved that night.

However, power was restored to Livermore and the concert resumed.

Officials reported hearing a loud boom or crack and had originally thought it was fireworks.

The blackout began at about 10:00 p.m., Saturday night.
