Humboldt, Iowa — The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors and Humboldt County Conservation Director Todd Lee will discuss Oakdale Park and the clean-up of it, at their meeting this morning.

Last week John Dahlke, a concerned citizen, presented the board the problems he’s seen recently with the park.

Located two miles southeast of Renwick, Dahlke told the board that Wright County came to Humboldt County Conservation in asking to close the campground.

However, Humboldt Conservation said they didn’t want things to close, so they vowed to take things over for the year.

Dahlke explained that while that may be true, the park is not in great shape. Over the last weeks Dahlke told the supervisors he saw “ a full sized axe stuck in a tree as well as drug paraphernalia.”

He also claimed there had been multiple welfare checks at the property as well. Humboldt and Wright County are currently splitting expenses half and half.

Meeting with Lee this morning, the supervisors should have a better idea on how to properly move forward. The two sides are set to meet at 8:32 a.m., this morning.
