Algona, Iowa — The Humboldt Wildcat girls basketball team played tough, but ultimately fell short of defeating #5 Algona last night 50-31.
The Wildcats cut the Bulldog lead to four points in the 2nd half, but couldn’t get it any closer as the terrific back court pairing of Aliyah Buscher and Abbey Holmes was too much for Algona.
The loss was Humboldt’s sixth straight, dropping them to 3-12 and 0-9 in the North Central Conference.
#5 Algona improved to 14-1 and 8-1 in the NCC.
Kendal Clark led Humboldt with 11 points.
Buscher had 14 points to lead all scorers for Algona.
