Webster City, IA — Those who want to see the new movie based on the life of Fred Rogers of “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” has the chance to do so this weekend – for free.

The Webster Theatre in Webster City, Iowa, will be showing the film from December 20th through the 26th at no cost. Ann McLaughlin, manager of the movie theater, says a member of the community had approached her asking if it was possible to buy tickets for everyone that wanted to see it. They said they were inspired by the real-life Mister Rogers’ kindness towards others.

McLaughlin is planning a food bank that week if patrons wanted to give back to the community as well. She says “if you are coming to the movie and would like to pay it forward, feel free to bring a couple of nonperishable food items.”

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood is out now, and stars Tom Hanks as Fred Rogers.
