Filing period for candidates running for county office

Humboldt, IA – Due to legislative changes filling period have changed for those candidates wishing to run for offices in the Humboldt County.

The Primary Election will be June 2, 2020. The filing period for Democratic and Republican candidates wishing to run for the County offices of Board of Supervisors (two seats), Auditor or Sheriff is now March 2 to March 25 of 2020.

The General Election will be November 3, 2020. The filing period for candidates wishing to run as Non-Party Political Organization (NPPO) or Nomination by Petition for the Board of Supervisors (two seats), Auditor or Sheriff is now march 2 to March 20 of 2020.

The filing period for candidates wishing to run for the non-partisan offices of Hospital Trustees, Soil and Water conservation District Commissioners and Township Officers is March 2 to March 20 of 2020.

The filing period for Agricultural Extension Council Members is now open and will close August 26 of 2020.

All paper work is required to run for desired office must be submitted by 5 pm on the final day of the filing period.
