Humboldt schools offering free meals during closure

Humboldt, IA – Humboldt schools will be offering free meals to children during the extend closure due to COVID-19.

Following the announcement that Humboldt Community Schools would be closing down for four weeks, it was announced that the schools would also be offering free meals while student are out. Elementary School Principal George Bruder says that grab and go meals will be available to all children ages 18 and younger.

Meals can be picked up at Taft Elementary School in the entryway. The school will be open Monday through Friday from 7 am to 10 am for both breakfast and lunch.

If students do not have access to transportation Bruder says there are delivery options. Call 515-332-3216 if you need a meal delivered. Delivery is available for Humboldt and rural communities in the area including Hardy, Renwick and Rutland. If there is no answer dial extension 6429 and leave a detailed message.

The grab and go breakfast and lunch will be offered for the four weeks that school remains closed. Updates on the grab and go meals or the school closures can be found on Humboldt.k12.ia.us.
