Humboldt CSD continues voluntary learning plan during shutdown

Humboldt, IA – Humboldt CSD releases their current plan for continuous learning for students during the current ordered shutdown of public schools.

In a press release from the Humboldt Community School District they say as they await Governor Reynold’s next school announcement Humboldt CSD’s plan is to continue providing students with Voluntary Education Enrichment Opportunities. These opportunities will be provided on a variety of platforms from Google Classroom, to live and recorded learning opportunities, through online programs, the school website, and through Learning Packets.

Teachers will provide weekly challenges, voluntary learning opportunities and provide feedback through individual, small, and large group discussions. Social media platforms, e-mail, the Remind app, and phone calls will be utilized to communicate with parents and students. Scheduled times for groups to meet virtually will be available providing learning opportunities, answering questions, and structuring upcoming learning opportunities available between virtual meetings.

Professional Development conversations and opportunities with TLC Leaders and principals will occur weekly through remote individual, small, and large group sessions.  The district’s application regarding our Student Learning Opportunities has been accepted and approved by the Iowa Department of Education.
