Second case of COVID-19 confirmed in Humboldt County

Humboldt, IA – A second case of novel coronavirus has been confirmed in Humboldt County by Public Health.

On Sunday, April 19, Humboldt County Public Health confirms through a press release that there is a second case of COVID-19 in Humboldt County. The Humboldt County resident is in the 18-40 age range and currently recovering in self-isolation. This will bring Humboldt County’s total case numbers up to two.

Humboldt County Public Health Director Joleen Sernett in the press release says “we continue to remind resident to take preventive measures to slow the spread of this virus.” She also stresses the importance for everyone to stay home as much as possible and practice social distancing.

Symptoms of COVID-19 include cough, fever (100.4 or greater) and shortness of breath. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, you should call your health care provider before going into the office. The provider may have special instructions for you and will determine if you should be tested.
