Humboldt Family Aquatic Center reopening for limited purposes

Humboldt, IA – The local parks and rec departments are deciding to open the aquatic center on a limited basis in compliance with state mandated restrictions

The Humboldt Family Aquatic Center will be reopening for limited use. During a meeting of the Parks and Recreations Departments for the City of Humboldt on June 2 they decided to reopen the center starting June 8. Paxton Petersen tells KHBT the opening will be for swimming lessons and lap swimming only at this time.

On Thursday, June 4 from 3 pm to 8 pm the staff will be allowing parents to sign their children up for lessons. There will be two sessions the week of June 8 and June 15. Time slots are separated based on Red Cross levels. Levels four through six will run from 8:15 am, 9 am, and 9:45 am. Levels one through three will run at 2 pm, 2:45 pm and 3:30 pm. Sign up is limited and there will be a cost of $25 per child. Private lessons with all certified life guard will also be available by contacting the life guard individually or by contacting the managers after the center reopens on June 8.

Lap swimming will also be available during limited times throughout the week starting June 8 as well. The center will have lap swimming available Monday through Friday at 7 am to 8 am, 12 pm to 2 pm and 4:30 pm to 6 pm. On Saturdays lap swimming is available at 7 am to 9 am and Sunday 12 pm to 2 pm. Lap swimming will be free for Humboldt County Residents only at this time.

The Humboldt Family Aquatic Center will be reopening June 8 for swimming lessons and lap swimming only. These limitations are in compliance to the restrictions and requirements ordered by the state.
