SUV strikes deer in a Friday night incident

Humboldt, IA – No injuries reported after a deep is struck by a SUV last Friday night.

Deputy Roger Bennett of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Friday, June 19, that David Stoakes, 60, of Webster City was southbound on highway 169 near Humboldt. As he continued south a deer ran out in his path and Stoakes was unable to stop in time. The action resulted in the deer being struck by Stoakes’ black Chevrolet Suburban.

The incident resulted in minor damages to the vehicle that was driven away from the scene. No injuries were reported by Deputy Bennett at the time of the incident.
