Wildcats baseball goes one and one during Saturday’s tournament

Estherville, IA – Humboldt High School Baseball travels for two games at Hess-Limberg Field and picks up one win.

On Saturday, June 27, the Wildcats baseball team participated in a four team weekend tournament. The first game for the team was against the Sioux City North Stars. The Stars would beat the Wildcats 5-3, with all five runs counting as earned runs. For the Wildcats they would go 5-26 in their at bats as a team led by Colby Clarken who was 2-2 from the plate with an RBI and two walks.

The second for Humboldt baseball was against the host school, Estherville Lincoln Central. The Wildcats would pick up the victory, final score of 10-3. In the win, Humboldt would go 9-28 as a team. Clarken would once again lead the team as a hitter, going 2-3 with a walk and five RBIs. Wildcats pitching due of Hayden Holm and Clarken would give up seven hits, only two walks and one earned run on the afternoon.

The Humboldt Wildcats are now 5-2 on the season. The next outing for the team will be Monday, June 29, on the road against Clarion-Goldfield-Dows. First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 pm, following the JV game.
