Dakota City tabs Baker Mechanical for waster water treatment facility updates

Dakota City, IA – Dakota City approves a bid, sets a public hearing for the work to be done at their waste water treatment facility.

The City Council for Dakota City is accepting a bid for work to be done at their waste water treatment facility. On Monday, July 13, the council held a special meeting to discuss the bids received for the work to be done. City Administrator Angelique Barry tells KHBT that the city received three bids.

MSA Professional Services estimated the cost of the project to be at $800,000. Of the three bids, two came above the estimate with Henkel Construction Company bidding $1,014,000 and Woodruff Construction, LLC asking $977,000. The accepted bid by council was from Baker Mechanical, Inc. for a total of $744,373.

The council for Dakota City accepted the bid unanimously as well as set the date for a public hearing to accept a Water Revenue Loan and Disbursement Agreement. The hearing will take place during their regularly scheduled council meeting in August.
