Dakota City, IA – Gilmore City is receiving all the approval needed to erect stop signs to help slow down traffic on a hazardous intersection.

The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors are approving stops signs to be put up in Gilmore City. On Monday, July 13 Gilmore City Mayor Lowell Johnson approached the Humboldt County Supervisors to request stop signs be placed at the intersection of South Gilmore Street and Southeast C Avenue. The process of getting the signs approved by the supervisors allows the signs to be enforced by local law enforcement.

The supervisors made the approval unanimously for stop signs to be placed north and southbound along S. Gilmore St. The city was also required to get approval from Pocahontas County, which they received according to city officials.

Following the approval from the two counties, the City Council for Gilmore City was able to approve the stop signs during their meeting.
