Des Moines, IA – Bank Iowa is joining forces with an Iowa-based non-profit to promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Announced via a release, the bank is working with Can Do Cancer to help promote breast cancer awareness during the month designated to do so. For the entire month Bank Iowa will be changing its traditional blue logo to pink on all social platforms. Additionally they will be donating $1 to the non-profit for every new like, follow or subscriber earned throughout the month of October.

Founder of Can Do Cancer Molly Zaver says the organization is excited to be working with Bank Iowa on this social media challenge. She says “cancer survival is a long journey that doesn’t need to be walked alone.” Despite having a supportive family and friend network, some patients can still feel like they are fighting alone. She says it’s “terrific” to join forces with a partner willing to raise the profile of their cause.

Vice President of Marketing for Bank Iowa, Josh Fleming says with a lot of attention being placed on the “high-profile negatives of today” such as COVID-19 it can seem like the world “doesn’t have time for cancer.” He says the hope is to “shine a very bright, very pink light” on all the work being done to help people fighting for their lives. The bank intends to raise funds and awareness for an organization that makes the fight against cancer “just a little less lonely for hundreds of Iowans.”

Can Do Cancer is a non-profit that works to improve the lives of breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment in Des Moines, Ames and the surrounding areas. Donation can be made directly to Can Do Caner or by liking Bank Iowa on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube.
