Deer runs into sedan during Saturday night drive

Humboldt County, IA – No injuries reported following a sedan striking a deer during a Saturday night drive.

Chief Deputy Cory Lampe of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office reports on the animal involved incident. His report states that on Saturday, Sept 26, Cale Hundertmark, 19, of Rutland was southbond on Georgia Avenue in the later hours of the evening. As he drove along a deer emerged from the west ditch and ran into the passenger’s side of his gray Chevrolet Impala. The report states that Hundertmark returned to his residence before contacting local law enforcement to report the incident. The deer was not located at the scene of the incident.

The incident resulted in minor damages to the Impala that could be driven from the scene. No injuries were reported by Chief Deputy Corey Lampe as a result of the incident.
