Humboldt, IA – The local Hy-Vee is now offering rapid COVID-19 antibody testing.
In an announcement from Hy-Vee, Inc. they say more than 250 locations throughout the Midwest will begin offering COVID-19 rapid antibody testing beginning Monday, Jan. 18. Among these locations include the pharmacy locations in Humboldt and Algona.
The rapid antibody test is available for patients who wish to learn if they have been previously infect with COVID-19. The test works by taking a small amount of blood through a finger stick.
The antibody test cannot be used to test if a patient is currently infected with the virus because it takes one to three weeks after infection to make antibodies.
Following a test administered by a trained Hy-Vee Pharmacy team member results will be sent to the patient via email that same day. The test costs $25.
Patients must register ahead of time through hy-vee.com/covidtesting and select the “antibody test.”
