Slick roads cause fender bender on Hwy 169

Humboldt County, IA – No injuries report after icy roads causes one vehicle to rear-end another in Highway 169.

Chief Deputy Corey Lampe of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s office files the report on the two car incident. His report state that on Tuesday, Jan. 19, a minor from Fort Dodge and Norton Koob, 19, of Gilmore City were driving southbound on Hwy 169.

As the minor hit 100% ice covered roads they started to lose control of their vehicles and slowed down. Koob came up behind the minor and couldn’t slowdown in time. His silver Ford 500 ended up striking the rear bumper of the minors tan Buick Century.

The incident resulted in minor damages to both vehicles that were driven away from the scene. No injuries were reported by Chief Deputy Lampe at the time of the incident.
