Dakota City, IA – Humboldt County Engineer Ben Loots gets a three year contract extension and is receiving a pay raise.

During the most recent meeting of the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors they met with their engineer. During their discussions they looked to amend Article 6 of the county engineer’s contract.

The first part of the amendment was to extend Loots’s employment with the county by three years, through June of 2024. With the extension, Loots will receive a 3 percent raise to his salary. He proposed similar increases for the second and third years of the extension as well.

The supervisors were hesitant to commit that far-out due to not knowing the finances for the county. They decided to leave out the pay increases for the second and third year at this time and Loots agreed to it.

The supervisors unanimously approved the amendment to the engineer’s contract following their discussions.
