Two SUVs left with heavy damages after crash on Hwy 169

Humboldt, IA – Possible minor injuries suspected after a two vehicle incident on Highway 169 near Humboldt High School.

Officer Susan Rutz of the Humboldt Police Department files the report on the two car incident. Her report says that on Monday, March 1, Rhonda Bierl, 72, of Pocahontas and Trish Frock, 43, of Humboldt were southbound on Hwy 169.

Frock told the responding officer she was distracted by another vehicle at the 10th Avenue Southwest intersection and when she looked forward again her red Jeep Renegade was striking Bierl’s white GMC Terrain from behind. The impact caused Frock’s vehicle so spin around and come to a stop facing northeast and Bierl managed to navigate her vehicle to the side road.

The incident resulted in disabling damages to the Terrain and functional damage to the Renegade. Officer Rutz reports both drivers and a passenger complained of some pain and possible minor injuries were suspected.
