Humboldt, IA – The City of Humboldt will be finishing up their junk pick-up days with a second pass through.

On Tuesday, April 27, the city reported that they will be going forward with a second drive through to pick-up junk left on the curb. This is for people who might not have had their junk picked up the first time because there was items unaccepted in the piles.

City officials remind the public that they will not be picking up bags or boxes of junk. This includes standard trash and anything that can be place in blue or yellow garbage bag. They will also not be picking up items like waste oil, wire, tires, batteries, paint shingles and construction materials.

If the not permissible items are removed for a residence junk pile the Humboldt Street Department will be back to collected the items that are acceptable. They will also be doing appliance pick-up as well for all items that have the orange sticker purchased from City Hall.
