Humboldt, IA – Humboldt High School girls’ soccer gets shut out in first home match of the season.
On Tuesday, April 6, the Wildcats played Mason City in their first home match of the season. It was a tough 9-0 loss for Humboldt.
In scoring break down Mason City scored five goals in the first half and four in the second. Three of their girls (Reggi Spotts, Claudia Sewel and Kenna Hemann) recorded two goals.
Humboldt took five shots in the game and none were on goal. Starting goal tender Maria Elizonda played 60 minutes in goal and faced 30 shots with 21 saves.

With the loss the Wildcats are now 1-1 on the season. Their next match will be Thursday, April 8, on the road in Storm Lake. Match time is scheduled for 5 pm.
