Dakota City, IA – The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing for the re-classification of Drainage District 7 Sub 2.

On Monday, April 19, the board received the re-classification report for this district in relation to a recently completed project. The report comes from Engineer Colin Klingbeil from Bolton and Menk, Inc.

As previously reported, DD 7 Sub 2 is located near Rutland. The project, that has been completed by Reutzel Excavating out of Burt, Iowa, occurred west of Hawaii Avenue. The affected area is approximately 159 acres of land. The district as a whole is about 700 acres. This is why the district is looking at a re-classification.

The supervisors accepted the re-classification report by Klingbeil. The next step in re-classifying the district is the county will hold a public hearing for the affected landowners who all received a copy of the report. After the board has the ability to hear all thoughts on the re-classification they will be able to approve or deny re-classification.

The date of the hearing is June 7 at 9 am.
