Two arrest in Webster County burglary case

Gowrie, IA – The Webster County Sheriff’s office arrests two individuals in a case related to a burglary.

On Monday, April 5, the Webster County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a residential burglary near Gowrie where several firearms were taken along with other items of value. Deputies obtained surveillance footage along with other evidence from the crime scene from the victims.

Through further investigation with the help of the Fort Dodge Police Department a suspect was identified. A criminal background check reveals the suspect was prohibited form possessing a fire arm and wanted on charges form a previous incident.

On Thursday, April 8, warrants were executed at the suspects residence in Fort Dodge where several items pertinent to the case were seized. Following the search warrants Ashton Lomika, 22, and Makayla Jonson, 24, were arrest for charges related to the case.

Lomika is charged with: robbery in the first degree (Class B Felony), burglary in the first degree (Class B Felony), theft in the first degree (Class C Felony), possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver (Class B Felony), Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person (Class D Felony), operating vehcile without owner consent (Aggravated Misdemeanor), theft in the fourth degree (Serious Misdemeanor) and Assault (Simple Misdemeanor).

Johnson is charged with: burglary in the first degree (Class B Felony) and possession of marijuana (Simple Misdemeanor).
