Spencer, IA – On Thursday, May 13, the Humboldt boys’ golf team went to sectionals at the Spencer Country Club.
The course par for an 18 hole game is 72 – top four performers from each team making up their score. The top two teams advance to the district meet and top two individuals NOT on the top two teams advance (plus ties).
As a team Humboldt finished fourth at 58 over par. The meet winner was Spirit Lake at +33. Runner-up was Spencer at +35.
Jackson Laven of Spirit Lake was the meets individual champion at par. MOC-Floyd Valley’s Jackson Van Den Bosch finished third (+3), Davis Korver (+7) and Estherville/Lincoln Central’s Ryan Schiltz (+7) were the two individuals who qualified for districts.

- Carson Sleiter +14
- Gabe Gidel +15
- Hayden Holm +19
- Ty Gargano +21
- Jake Lenning +25
With no Humboldt golfers advancing from sectionals to districts their season will come to a close.
