Humboldt issues RFP for nuisance abatement work

Humboldt, IA – The City of Humboldt is looking for proposals for general nuisance abatement work.

During the recent meeting of the city council they discussed this action item. City Administrator says this is just to approve the issuance of the request for proposal.

This is the time of year when the city receives more calls about gathering of general junk on properties. Goedken says this is when the nuisance abatement would be used, for garbage and junk. This is not used for yard waste such as leaves and fallen tree limbs.

The city administrator says the process is similar to the nuisance mowing. Those with the approved proposal do the work when called upon by the city that will bill the residence. He says usually it only needs to get used once per residence because the price tag tends to be costly.

The council approved the issuance of the RFP unanimously.
