Humboldt still having issues with yard waste being left at old location

Humboldt, IA – Officials in the City of Humboldt are reminding the public of the new compost pile location.

During the city council meet on May 17, City Administrator Travis Goedken took time to remind the public of this detail. He says that ever since they moved the pile there has been an issue of citizens dropping off compost at the old location.

The old location is now owned by Precision Tank and Equipment. The city administrator says they have posted signs that note it is private property. The city’s street staff has been instructed to add more signs directing the public to the new pile on 16th Avenue North.

Goedken also took the time to remind the public that larger yard waste like tree limbs do not go to this location. Instead they go to the city’s street shop.
