Secondary roads construction update

Humboldt County, IA – Construction on  the Humboldt County secondary roads is making great progress thanks to the weather cooperating.

County Engineer Ben Loots says that the road work being done throughout the county by Mathy Construction is moving right along. The weather being relatively rain free has played a huge part in making sure these projects stay on track.

The engineer presented a pay voucher to the Board of Supervisors on May 10 for approval. This payment for $155,792.51 covers the milling of P 29, referred to as the “Clare Blacktop,” and some of the paving for C 20 near Ottosen. It received unanimous approval.

The Clare Blacktop will be the next road to start getting paved with C 20 being completed on Tuesday, May 11. The construction crews have also begun to mill Gotch Park Road.

Loots and the Humboldt County’s Secondary Roads department will continue to provide updates on construction to the supervisors and to the public through their Facebook page.
