Webster County Sheriff investigating thefts near Coalville

Coalville, IA – The Webster County Sheriff’s Office is investigating multiple thefts in the Coalville area.

According to their report, during the weekend of May 2, multiple residents of the Coalville area reported thefts of items from numerous vehicles. The events occurred during the night time hours. Deputies took the initial reports and began to follow up on these thefts and reports of damage to vehicles.

Since the start of the investigation Webster County Sheriff’s Office conducted several interviews that led to the execution of multiple search warrants at resident located in Coalville and in Fort Dodge. Detectives were able to recover stolen property, illegal narcotics and multiple farms as a result of these warrants.

It has been determined that these crimes were committed by several juveniles with two male juveniles already taken into custody on Burglary charges. Names are being withheld due to age.

This case is an ongoing investigation and further arrests are pending.

The Webster County Sheriff’s Office would ask residents in the Coalville area to check their surveillance system for the weekend of May 2. They are encouraged to contact the Sheriff’s Office if they find any footage of the suspicious activity.
