Humboldt softball runs past Hampton-Dumont

Humboldt, IA – On Monday, June 7, Humboldt softball defeats Hampton-Dumont-Cal 11-1 in six innings.

Reagan Lee was the winning pitcher. She pitched all six innings, giving up five hits, one walk and one earned run. She recorded three strikeouts.

Avery Hanson was the losing pitcher. She pitched four innings, giving up five hits, two earned runs (seven total), two walks, one hit batter. She struck out four.

Humboldt was aggressive running the bases. The stole eight bases in as many attempts as a team. Jori Hajek and Addie Thompson both stole three individually.

Hajek led the way at the plate for Humboldt. She went 2-3 with a double and triple while recording three RBIs and drawing a walk. Alexis Hansen was 1-4 at the plate with a double and two RBIs.

Kylee Whimple led Hampton-Dumont, going 2-3. Addy Showalter was 1-1 at the plate and also drew a walk.

Humboldt is now 8-1 this season and 3-0 in the North Central Conference.

The next game for the Wildcats will be Tuesday, June 8, on the road against Emmetsburg. First pitch is scheduled for 7 pm, following a JV game.
