Humboldt, IA – The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to celebrate responsibly this 4th of July weekend.

Through a joint release with the Iowa Department of Public Safety and Governor’s traffic safety bureau, local law enforcement reminds the public to not drink and drive. This American holiday does bring an increased consumption of alcohol and drugs which can lead to impaired driving and deadly consequences.

In order to help combat those consequences, Humboldt County law enforcement will be joining entities all across the state in the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign from July 2-5. Officers are being instructed to take a zero tolerance approach for impaired drivers.

The Iowa Department of Public Safety, Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau and Humboldt County Law Enforcement Center everyone that it is never okay to drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs. “Remember: if you feel different, you drive different.”
