4th of July activities

Humboldt, IA – The community is going to have plenty of 4th of July activities to enjoy in 2021.

As previously reported, the weekend will start with the Iowa Hog Drags and Nostalgia Reunion at the North Iowa Dragway on July 2 and 3. Gates open at 5 pm on Friday and 8 am on Saturday. Anyone who rides a motorcycle is able to compete in the weekends time trials and races.

July 4 will start with a Run White and Blue 5K/10K run/walk at 8 am. The start line will be in front of US Bank in downtown Humboldt and walks up entries will be $30. The entry fees will go towards sending local veterans on the Brushy Creek Honor Flights.

There will be the Bible Reading Marathon at the court house in Dakota City starting at 10:30 am.

The 4th of July Parade in Humboldt will begin at 7 pm at the intersection of 1st Avenue North and Taft Street. The committee will finalize the number of entries on July 2 during their final pre-parade meeting. KHBT 97.7 the Bolt will broadcast the entire parade.

The day will end with the annual fireworks show launching at 10 pm from in front of the grand stands at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds. The display best place to watch the show is the Hy-Vee parking lot across the street. KHBT will provide a patriotic sound track for the entire show.
