Dakota City, IA – Volunteers are still needed to help display the flags around the Humboldt County Court House in Dakota City.

On Thursday, July 1, the tradition of displaying American flags around the court house will be renewed. This tradition occurs around every patriotic holiday such as the 4th of July.

During the meeting of the board of supervisors on June 28, Supervisor David Lee told the board they would start putting up the flags at 5 pm. Anyone who is willing and able to volunteer is encouraged to come to the court house to help in the efforts.

When the flags were displayed for Memorial Day a group of about 30 helped with the set up and takes down. This includes community members and students from Humboldt High School.

Lee says if they get enough helping hands the process can go very quickly. The flags will go up on July 1 at 5 pm and come down July 6 at 5 pm.
