Fort Dodge woman arrested after fleeing from police

Fort Dodge, IA – Fort Dodge Police continues to investigate a shots fired incident in the Pleasant Valley area of Fort Dodge early Sunday Morning. The Fort Dodge Police Department released a statement on Monday, and the release said that the Webster County Telecommunications received a call about shots fired at 3:52 AM and that a tan sport utility vehicle may have been involved.

Officers spotted a vehicle that matched that description traveling through the south side of Fort Dodge and determined that the owner of the vehicle had a warrant for their arrest and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle near 15th Avenue South and South 26th Street. The vehicle refused to pull over and fled from officers.

Stop sticks were successfully deployed and the vehicle was disabled near South 15th Street and 12th Avenue Southwest.

38 year old Tanisha Gully was taken into custody and charged with Eluding, a Serious Misdemeanor, Operating While Intoxicated First Offense a Serious Misdemeanor,  numerous traffic offenses and Outstanding warrant for Possession of a Control Substance a Serious Misdemeanor.

Gully made her initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court on Monday and is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Fort Dodge Police Department continues to investigate the shots fired incident and any connection the vehicle, if any, may have had in the incident.
