Pocahontas, IA – A Humboldt man was arrested after being found with a stolen vehicle in Pocahontas on Saturday, Mar. 11.
At 9:25 a.m. Saturday, a Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Deputy observed a vehicle which had recently been reported stolen parked at the fuel pumps of Brew Oil Wine & Spirits in Pocahontas. An investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 40-year-old Douglas Lynch of Humboldt.
Lynch was charged with the following:
- Operation without owner’s consent, an aggravated misdemeanor
- Possession of methamphetamine 3rd offense, a class D felony
- Possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor
- Driving while suspended, a simple misdemeanor
Evidence observed during the investigation led to a subsequent search warrant for items taken during multiple burglaries in the area. Lynch was transported to the Pocahontas County Jail to await his initial appearance before a Magistrate with additional charges anticipated against Lynch.
The Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Pocahontas Police Department and the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.
