Additional charges in murder for at-large Fort Dodge teen, second teen arrested

Fort Dodge, IA – New charges have been filed against a Fort Dodge teen who is wanted in connection with the homicide Tuesday night in Fort Dodge.

In addition to a first degree murder charge for 17-year-old Davonquae Jyshon Pettigrew of Fort Dodge, an attempt to commit murder charge on a second individual currently in the hospital has been filed against Pettigrew. Pettigrew is still at-large and is considered to be armed and dangerous. There is currently a $500 reward by Webster County Crime Stoppers leading to the arrest of Pettigrew.

In addition to Pettigrew, a second Fort Dodge teen has been arrested in connection with Tuesday’s murder. 16-year-old Haydin Mapel of Fort Dodge was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with Aiding and Abetting Murder in the First Degree and Aiding and Abetting Attempt to Commit Murder. Bond was set at $1 million and $300,000 for the charges, respectively.

The Fort Dodge Police Department says their investigation is still ongoing.
