Webster County, IA – Webster County Emergency Management has amended their triggers for sounding their storm sirens.

In a press release by the agency, in addition to tornado warnings, sirens in Webster County will sound starting Thursday for severe thunderstorms with greater than 70 mph winds and hail that is golf ball size or larger. The tones will also see a change, as the siren is currently a one minute wail and will change to a steady tone for three minutes.

Storm sirens are only activated within a storm warning polygon.
