Humboldt, IA – The Humboldt School Board has voted to look into a new natural grass playing surface at Mason Maach Field.

At their school board session on September 18, the board voted unanimously to hire Beck Engineering at a cost of $23,000 to provide the design and construction administration services for reconstructing the grass football field.

Humboldt Superintendent Jim Murray says improvements to the playing surface would occur with the change.

Once Bids are received, the hope is for the process to begin in the spring with the project at Mason Maach Field wrapping up before the 2024 football season.
