Humboldt, IA – Humboldt County Emergency Management says that sewer work within the city of Humboldt will be occurring over the next few days.

The agency says that residents may smell an odor that resonates with epoxy or nail polish remover coming from drains and says that the odor is not harmful.

Humboldt County EMA says tips to help with the odor include to open windows, pour a gallon of water down drains, especially in your basement. Also, they say to make sure to cover the drain with a wet towel.

The City says that sewer work should wrap up for the City of Humboldt by the end of the week.
