Humboldt, IA – HCMH receives a financial donation to help provide lifesaving equipment to their staff.
The Humboldt County Community Foundation is providing funds to Humboldt County Memorial Hospital to help provide more improved equipment during uncertain times. In a press release from HCMH Director of Community Development Mardi Ratzlaff she thanks the HCCF for their generosity.
The financial donation provided to the local hospital was used to purchase a C-MAC Video Laryngoscope, Multi-Oxygen Administrator, BreathSaver Plus Bags and Personal Protective Equipment. C-MAC Laryngoscopy is a recent advancement to help provide assistance in difficult intubation. It has a higher rate of successful intubation when used as a rescue device when direct laryngoscopy fails and has less risk of trauma to soft tissues and teeth.
Ratzlaff says that the staff at HCMH truly appreciate the gifts provide to them from HCCF. She says that gifts like these “help keep the hospital vital and be able to protect the staff, patients, residents and tenants during this unprecedented public health disaster.” The total fiscal amount donated was $38,172.39.
The Humboldt County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Grater Des Moines, established a disaster recovery fund in April of 2020. The purpose of the fund is to provide relief and support to populations negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
