Dakota City, IA – Two parcels of land are being rezoned with the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors approval.

During the meeting of the supervisors on Monday, Aug. 31 they were given two rezoning requests from the county zoning board to review. The details of these requests were given to the supervisors by Zoning Board Commission Randy Krecklow who was unable to attend the Monday meeting.

The first request comes from Mid-American Energy to rezone a parcel of land from agricultural (A-1) to commercial (C-1). This is where the company plans to put their switching station near Beaver Township. The second request comes from Jay and Julie Jergens to rezone a parcel of land from agricultural (A-1) to residential (R-1). The purpose of rezoning is to build a new home on this parcel.

A public hearing was held previously by the zoning board to get public input on these two rezoning. During this hearing the zoning board made the approval to pass the rezoning decision along to the supervisors who ultimately have the final say.

Both requests were approved unanimously by the board of supervisors as explained by the zoning board.
