Dakota City, IA – No injuries reported after a sedan gets stuck in a snow pack avoiding a sliding pickup truck.

Chief Deputy Corey Lampe of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office files the report on the incident. The report says that on Tuesday, February 9, Amanda Ollinger, 43, of Dakota City was traveling north on 2nd Street North in Dakota City approaching the curve with 6th Avenue North.

Ollinger advises that a black Chevrolet pickup came into the curve from the opposite direction and was sliding into her lane. She turned right to avoid a collision and ended up stuck in a snowbank facing north. Striking the snowbank resulted in minor damages to the undercarriage of her red Chevrolet Impala.

Chief Deputy Lampe reports no injuries as a result of the incident. The driver of the pickup did stop to apologize to Ollinger but the report says they fled the scene when law enforcement was called according to the report.
