Humboldt, IA – Humboldt High School girls’ soccer falls 1-0 in a tight match against Aplington-Parkersburg.
On Thursday, April 22, the Wildcats hosted the Falcons at the Humboldt High School Soccer Field. A first half goal elevated Aplington-Parkersburg to victory in an evenly matched game.
The only goal of the game was scored by Aplington-Parkersburg freshman Carley Hook.
As a team Humboldt took 12 shots, half of them were on goal. Yuli Orana took four shots as the leading shooter, three of them were on goal.
Humboldt’s Goal Keeper Maria Elizondo faced 14 shots with 13 saves. She played all 80 minutes in the goal.

With the loss Humboldt falls to 2-3 on the season. Their next game is Friday, April 23, at home against Greene County. The match is set to begin at 5 pm.
