Humboldt, IA – A special election on Tuesday passed a local sales and service tax in Rutland and Lu Verne. The tax passed 3-0 in Lu Verne and 21-5 in Rutland. The tax will be imposed at a rate of 1% starting on January 1 2022 until June 20, 2031.
Humboldt County Auditor’s Office said in statement that revenues from the sales and service tax shall be for any lawful use as determined annually by the City Council’s of Lu Verne and Rutland.
